Faculty of Education & Human Development
This Academic Calendar section outlines the official degree structures, credit distributions, and academic requirements for programs offered within the Faculty of Education & Human Development. All programs are designed in accordance with the regulatory framework of the Province of Quebec, including the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur (MES), and adhere to international quality assurance principles aligned with UNESCO global education standards.
Regulatory and Quality Assurance Framework (Quebec)
All degrees are offered subject to authorization under Quebec higher education legislation and oversight by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur (MES). Program quality assurance processes are aligned with provincial expectations for academic governance, continuous program evaluation, faculty qualifications, institutional integrity, and financial sustainability.
Teacher education programs are structured in accordance with the Quebec Professional Competency Framework established by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec (MEQ), including supervised practicum requirements and competency-based assessment models.
Degree structures are compatible with North American credit standards and internationally comparable qualification frameworks to support academic mobility across the Americas and Africa.
Credit Framework
One course = 3 credits unless otherwise specified.
Full-time academic load = 30 credits per academic year.
Graduate thesis/dissertation credits reflect supervised research hours.
Practicum credits reflect supervised field placement hours in approved institutions.

Graduation Requirements
To qualify for graduation, students must:
Complete all required credits within their approved program structure.
Maintain minimum academic standing as defined by university regulations.
Successfully complete all practicum, internship, or residency requirements.
Fulfill research, thesis, or dissertation defense requirements where applicable.
Satisfy institutional language and academic integrity requirements.
